Outside of our own community, we may be the least talked about software for nonprofits around. That's because we don't sponsor blog posts, sponsor reports, or even do much in the way of marketing our own product.
That seems like a really strange strategy, huh? Well, the truth is that much of what we do, and don't do, is rooted in the fact that we're an open source project. In essence, we give our product away for free. That makes it pretty tough to fund much other than the core development itself. Besides, we're developers, not marketing experts. We like to spend our time building kickass software.
